How old / young are you?
What is your occupation?
Avionics software/research engineer
When did you join Widespread Fitness?
Why did you decide to give Widespread Fitness a try?
It has the combinations I was looking for: great coaches, small classes, CrossFit style, close to home, friendly community.
What was your athletic background before starting?
My first encounter with mixed cardio and strength training dated back to October 2012, and I really enjoyed it! However it only lasted for less than a year. I went back to this kind of mixed training (not as intense and rigorous as Widespread Fitness) and stayed committed since July 2017. I also do a few races in a year.
What changes in your health, physique, and overall performance have you seen since starting?
My fitness level has definitely gone a level up or more. I feel stronger and more powerful than ever.
What advice would you give to someone with regards to starting?
Find an attendance routine that suits you and stick to it; pay attention to forms and have good warmups and cool downs. You will always find it worthwhile and rewarding after you complete a class.
What is your favorite and least favorite exercises / movement?
I like them all. Especially I don’t mind burpees and runnings and rope climbing. I used to dread for double unders and wall balls but not anymore. I cannot do handstand push-up or kipping pull-ups yet so they are my next goals.
What is your most memorable moment so far?
I enjoy every time after I am done with the last movement in the 5-6am class and I walk outside to cool off in the morning breeze and cheer with my fellow classmates.
What do you like to do outside of the gym?
I love being in the Great Nature. Any outdoor activities with family and friends are fun.
What is your favorite “cheat” food or meal?
Cheesecake and vanilla ice cream
What is something people would be surprised to know about you?
I can’t think of anything
Who or what inspires you the most?
People who stay in good health and shape and keep challenging themselves to achieve their next level of goals.
What is one goal you would like to accomplish?
Pikes peak half marathon (I’d like to do it one day)
