When did you join Widespread CrossFit?
Why did you decide to give CrossFit a try?
I decided to try CrossFit because I was looking for something different to incorporate into my fitness regime. I ran into my good friend Kim Merrill who had nothing but great things to say about Widespread, so I decided to give it a try.
What was your athletic background before starting CrossFit?
I’ve done a variety of things over the years including running, yoga and weight lifting on my own but definitely needed something new.
What changes in your health, physique, and overall performance have you seen since starting CrossFit?
I’ve noticed an increase in my overall strength & especially stamina, and feel a little leaner than before I started.
What advice would you give to someone with regards to starting CrossFit?
My advice for anyone regarding CrossFit is – Don’t look at the WOD before you go to class.
What is your favorite and least favorite CrossFit exercises / movement?
My favorite exercise is any kind of squats and my least favorite exercise is definitely burpees.
What is your most memorable CrossFit moment so far?
The Veterans Day workout “Andy” included a 1.5 mile run which I did NOT think I could do, but I kept thinking about his story and I was able to finish the run.
What do you like to do outside of CrossFit?
I enjoy traveling with my family and cooking.
What is your favorite “cheat” food or meal?
My favorite cheat food is buffalo wings
What is something people would be surprised to know about you?
I have an 18 year old and 13 year old twins
Who or what inspires you the most?
My mom, husband and kids are my biggest inspirations.
What is one goal you would like to accomplish through CrossFit?
My goal early on was just to make it to class 3 times a week (which I usually do) but now I really want to do burpees technically correct without dying.
