Athlete of the Month Questionnaire
How old / young are you? Hard to admit, but I turn 50 this summer.
What is your occupation? VP Global Supply Chain at Sanmina
When did you join Widespread Fitness? August 2024
Why did you decide to give Widespread Fitness a try? I love Cross Fit and needed a gym which was close, so I could fit a workout in between work and managing kids.
What was your athletic background before starting? I was at MBS Cross fit for 10 years pre kids. I also consider myself a runner.
What changes in your health, physique, and overall performance have you seen since starting?
My overall joy has increased as I no longer WISH I was doing more for myself in the area of fitness, I’m doing it! My overall confidence is higher because I no longer change outfits 10 times when going somewhere because nothing fits right. I love building muscle and reducing fat, who doesn’t!
What advice would you give to someone with regards to starting?
Matt does such a tremendous job with On boarding. His goal every day and particularly through the onboarding process is to coach his athletes to do the movements well. It’s not about speed, it’s about using your body to most efficiently move the weight and avoid injury. Matt really takes his time with all of us and holds us to a high standard.
What is your favorite and least favorite exercises / movement?
Weight overhead is scary to me so my least favorite exercise is a Power Snatch. I have a love hate with pull-ups. They are so very difficult and yet I am so very proud when achieving them!
What is your most memorable moment so far? When I came to the gym 8 months ago I could not do a single pull-up. During the Open I actually achieved ONE chest to bar pull-up!
What do you like to do outside of the gym? Zach and I have three boys ages 7, 11 and 13. I love our crazy life of lots of sports, activity and adventure.
What is your favorite “cheat” food or meal? I love a good Hazy IPA.
What is something people would be surprised to know about you? I have a twin sister!
Who or what inspires you the most? My husband, Zach, because of his daily example and outlook on life – he makes me a better person.
What is one goal you would like to accomplish? Why can’t I Iose my belly fat?
