How old / young are you? 60, but I feel younger What is your occupation? U.S. POSTAL SERVICE CLERK – 38 years When did you join Widespread CrossFit? April 2017 Why did you decide to give CrossFit a try? My son does CrossFit in San Antonio. He vacationed here last April and couldn’t miss working out while here. We worked out at Widespread and really liked it. My son strongly suggested that I needed to join Widespread to get, and stay in shape, so I joined. What was your athletic background before starting CrossFit? Some weightlifting and cycling What changes in your health, physique, and overall performance have you seen since starting CrossFit? I feel stronger, healthier and leaner. What advice would you give to someone with regards to starting CrossFit? I would tell them not to be overwhelmed by the WOD’s and I would recommend they be sure to scale the workouts, which the coaches are really helpful with. What is your favorite and least favorite CrossFit exercises / movement? Favorite – push-ups, least favorite – burpees What is your most memorable CrossFit moment so far? When I got to put my name on the PR board for the first time. What do you like to do outside of CrossFit? Play guitar, hike and cycle What is your favorite “cheat” food or meal? Ice cream What is something people would be surprised to know about you? I’ve taken sewing classes before and actually enjoyed it. Who or what inspires you the most? People, especially my age or older, that work to get in shape and work to stay in shape. My wife’s support of me doing CrossFit is also inspiring. What is one goal you would like to accomplish through CrossFit? Get in shape, eat healthier, and live to be 100.
