How old / young are you? 47 What is your occupation? Global Talent Acquisition in the Int’l Dev field When did you join Widespread Fitness? April 2021 Why did you decide to give Widespread Fitness a try? My daughter encouraged me to try CrossFit. What was your athletic background before starting? I’ve practiced a few sports recreationally: tennis, running, hiking, swimming, and skiing. What changes in your health, physique, and overall performance have you seen since starting? I feel stronger, my daughter was right. Plus the workouts are always a challenge for me, they take me out of my comfort zone. What advice would you give to someone with regards to starting? Just stick with it. You are investing in one of your most important assets, your health! What is your favorite and least favorite exercises / movement? My favorite exercise is pull ups. One day, I will be able to an unassisted pull up. Least favorite: burpees. I don’t like them and never will… What do you like to do outside of the gym? Trail running, baking, traveling, spending time with family & friends. What is your favorite “cheat” food or meal? Sweets: brownies, cookies, cake, pie, etc., etc., etc. What is something people would be surprised to know about you? I am originally from Guatemala, married an American and have been in this great country for 20 years. Although I don’t think people would be surprised, they can tell by my accent. Who or what inspires you the most? My dad… He is an amazing athlete. At almost 80 years old, he can still walk on his hands and swim a mile in open water even though he only has one lung. What is one goal you would like to accomplish? To do one (or more) unassisted pull ups.
