How old / young are you? I am 35 until February 23 of this year. What is your occupation? I am a Forensic Therapist. When did you join Widespread CrossFit? I don’t know the exact date…Almost 2 years ago. Why did you decide to give CrossFit a try? I was going to Orange Theory and was incredibly bored. I also knew I was good with weights and wanted to see what I could do. What was your athletic background before starting CrossFit? I used to be athletic as a kid. But really after having my own kids I was too tired to have my own drive to be athletic. What changes in your health, physique, and overall performance have you seen since starting CrossFit? The true measurement is my health. I am healthier and the added bonus has been the changes to my physique. My performance has significantly improved overtime and I continue to challenge myself (Hello Pullups…I’m coming for you.) What advice would you give to someone with regards to starting CrossFit? Anything worth doing is not easy! AND… Matt and Kari have very different definitions of fun! What is your favorite and least favorite CrossFit exercises / movement? My favorite exercise is any opportunity to do a 1 RM. I used to hate burpees and now I hate pull-ups. What is your most memorable CrossFit moment so far? There have been a few…but I really enjoy the people I work out with at the gym. This has really been what has encouraged me to come back every week. What do you like to do outside of CrossFit? Spend time with my family. What is your favorite “cheat” food or meal? Any forbidden carbohydrate. What is something people would be surprised to know about you? I practice Reiki and am an Acu detox specialist (I can do ear acupuncture which helps to relieve stress and anxiety along with detox of the body.) Who or what inspires you the most? Finding the ways to continue to live with balance. What is one goal you would like to accomplish through CrossFit? Kipping Pull-ups, my elusive unicorn!
