Why did you decide to give Widespread Fitness a try?
I needed to get into shape! I was a tub of goo.
What was your athletic background before starting?
Sports throughout High School, skiing, hiking, and the occasional gym class though infrequently!
What changes in your health, physique, and overall performance have you seen since starting?
I have lost weight, gotten stronger and am in the best shape I have been in for a long time. Still have work to do but getting there.
What advice would you give to someone with regards to starting?
Start going to classes and enjoy the ride! The coaches are super supportive, classes are fun because of the other athletes and it’s nice to see improvements in technique and strength!
What is your favorite and least favorite exercises / movements?
My favorite movement is power cleans and Sled pushes are my least favorite.
What is your most memorable moment so far?
Tie – first toes to bar or completing my first CrossFit Open.
What do you like to do outside of the gym?
Skiing, golf, any beach and hanging out with my family. And live music!
What is your favorite “cheat” food or meal?
I love chicken wings with blue cheese – fantastic. Tommy like wingy!
What is something people would be surprised to know about you?
My last name Centanni is a toast in Italy. When Italians celebrate a birthday or wedding, they often raise their glasses in a celebratory toast and proclaim: Cent’anni! – May you live 100 years!
Who or what inspires you the most?
My wife Elise and family (2 boys – Madden and Cameron). I spend so much time with them it’s hard not to be inspired! Elise is definitely the glue of our family and I am a lucky man to have her in my life.
What is one goal you would like to accomplish?
Consistent double-unders in WOD’s! I can do 20/30 in a row but during workouts I’m not consistent enough. Need to get better!
