How old / young are you?
I am old enough to know better but still too young to care.
What is your occupation?
I am a surgical technician.
When did you join Widespread Fitness?
I joined Widespread with my husband in July of 2023.
Why did you decide to give Widespread Fitness a try?
I decided to join Widespread because I needed something challenging and to get back into a fitness routine. Also, our daughter was attending the teen classes and we witnessed huge improvements in her swimming after training with Coach Kari.
What was your athletic background before starting?
I didn’t have any specific athletic background; enjoyed spin classes pre-pandemic.
What changes in your health, physique, and overall performance have you seen since starting?
Since joining Widespread I have noticed more muscle mass/definition and better recovery
times.
What advice would you give to someone with regards to starting?
My advice for someone wanting to start at Widespread would be that it is encouraging to see all different types of athletes can be found and are accepted at Widespread Fitness. All the Widespread coaches are more than capable of coaching the athletes no matter what the athletes fitness background is or skill level. Also, the coaches are tuned into form and always put safety first.
What is your favorite and least favorite exercises / movement?
My favorite exercises are planks or wall balls. Woot, 5+ minute plank is my record. My least favorite exercise _by_ far is burpees.
What is your most memorable moment so far?
My most memorable moment at Widespread is doing a three minute plank during the April ‘25
Ab Challenge, or a 5:10 plank during a bodybuilding class in January ‘26.
What do you like to do outside of the gym?
Outside of the gym I enjoy reading, cooking, baking, spending time with family, walking our
silver lab, Willow, or most importantly, watching our daughter swim.
What is your favorite “cheat” food or meal?
My favorite cheat food would be onion rings.
What is something people would be surprised to know about you?
Something surprising about me is that I can do calligraphy & love Charleston, S.C.
Who or what inspires you the most?
Our daughter and her resiliency is a constant source of inspiration.
What is one goal you would like to accomplish?
One fitness goal I have is to become better at overhead squats.
